Our Hero, Bruce Chevis

heroes

We are very appreciative for Jay Ferm's hard work and dedication to the successful launch of Community Car.  Jay's technology and systems expertise was essential in providing Community Car with a solid foundation.   As an investor, Jay continues to share his transportation knowledge and spirit of community with us.  Thank you, Jay!

our members

Bruce and Patricia Chevis are our first heroes. After learning about our feasibility study and completing Madison Environmental Group's simple car cost calculation worksheet and Transportation Behavior Survey, they sold two of their three cars in anticipation of Community Car. Their children left for college and their car needs decreased. Instead of paying insurance for cars sitting in the driveway, this active couple decided to rent a "second" car for their occasional use instead. They are one of our charter members. Thank you Bruce and Patricia.  Can you find the other photograph of Bruce on our web page?

the carsharing industry

Sonya, Rebecca, and Amanda extend a deep and humble Thank You to those who provided advice and information without which we would not be here today.

University of Wisconsin staff & professors

Thank you to Don Wortham and Allen Dines for providing invaluable business start-up advice and to Joan Schmit and Dan Anderson for finding us auto insurance!  We could not have started Community Car without them.

our volunteers

Judy Skog is our volunteer superstar! She assists us around the office, pitches in at events and even drives our vehicles in parades. Judy is truly a Community Car ROCK STAR!

Alex Aulisi was our first super volunteer. She assisted with our first member handbook and website design. Alex lives in the walkable Atwood Avenue area and serves on the SASY Neighborhood Association council. Thanks to Alex for her generosity and commitment to Madison neighborhoods.
